Wife flew in from LAX to PITT and managed to lose her luggage. So far at this point still no luggage. Her flight was Friday night and it is now Tuesday. India told me yesterday that the luggage has been at PITT since Sunday, the website tells me that its still being located and Huston tells me this morning that it has been at PITT since yesterday. In the process of trying to find this bag for my wife, I have spoke with India over 5 times, Chicago 3 times, Philippines 3 times Huston 4 times. All but 2 times that I was transferrred it was without warning and it was back to India, which where by the way does not give one rats ass about anyone in the US. Will post update later when and if her luggage shows up.

Not a day goes by when I can't find the time to take out of my busy schedule to curse United Airlines. The problems are way beyond the capacity of the airline to address. I believe we need congress to pass some kind of law to protect customers from airline abuse. It is clear to me, and frankly to anyone else who has tried to address theri grievances with United, that they do not care, they do not have to. We must find a way to make them care.
customer service is a joke
I am very disappointed with recent customer service through United Airlines. I purchased for my family 4 round trip airline tickets from America to Hong Kong to attend my wedding. My nephew was to return on his own a few weeks after the wedding to spend some time visiting here. He waited at the gate. Incidentially, there was another flight departing from the same gate. As it was his first time flying alone, he mistook which flight was his and tried to board the wrong flight. On being told his flight had already left, he did not know what to do so contacted a service personal who told him he needed to reschedule. He needed to pass back through immigration and an immigration personal helped him to do this. They went to reclaim his bags and were told that United Airlines was GOING TO THROW OUT HIS CHECKED BAGS, because they said, they thought he had left his luggage there. When he finally arrived back at my home, I contacted to reschedule and explain the events. The people working insisted that he was late for his flight, even after I repeatedly explained that he was not late, but sitting at the gate. No calls for his check in had been made. United airlines has charged me another $350 to reschedule his ticket since he "was late" for his flight, which is absolutely untrue. I checked my American account balance which has ample funds available to pay for the ticket since I was told there was absolutely no way to waive the fee since it is United Airlines "policy". I have now recieved a call saying that it has been denied the charges so I have to wait until my bank in America opens (not for another 3 hours due to time differences) and have them release the funds. I explained this to the personal who was telling me the situation and she kept insisting that I travel to the airport tomorrow and have my husband (even after I said it was my nephew 4 times) pay before the flight, which he can't do with my credit card. So I explained again what needed to be done and I could have the money released in a few hours. I was told I could not call them but need to call the American number. Only God knows what I will have to deal with when I call those people.
I have used United Airlines to fly myself and my family with over 6 roundtrip flights to and from America/Hong Kong this year alone. WEll, I assure you, I WILL NOT USE THIS AIRLINE AGAIN. Not for me or my families tickets, which I arrange for them. There are other airlines that offer better CUSTOMER SERVICE and they charge nominal amounts more and include HIGHER BAGGAGE LIMITS. I will make sure all of my colleagues, who also make numerous round trips between HK and the Americas, as well as travel extensively here in Asia, are aware of this customer service as well. Travel should be enjoyable, not the nightmare this situation has become. Other airlines I have used provide changes and excellent customer service taking into consideration circumstances when needed. AND CONSIDERING THROWING AWAY HIS BAGGAGE? COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
